かの有名な「鯨の公式」です。 A whale is no more a fish than a horse is. 「鯨が魚でないのは、馬が魚でないと同じだ」 no ＝ not any と言えばお分かりでしょうか？ It does not concern me any more than my diversions need concern you. ＝ It no more concerns me than my diversions need concern you. 「それが私に関わりないのは、私の気晴らしがあなたに関係する必要がないのと同じだ」 Any more than の前で、ちょっと切れていますが、 「僕がどんな楽しみを持っているかだって、あなたには関係ないのと同じですよ」 くらいでしょうか。
