和訳の仕方がまったくわかりません。。。 部分部分の言っていることはわかるのですが、英文の間にthatが入ってきたり、（）で囲まれた英文があると、和訳するときにどこから訳していいのかわからなくなってしまいます。文中に「,」がところどころにあると、混乱してしまいます。 英文を和訳にする時のコツはあるのでしょうか？ どうか、教えてください。 宜しくお願いします。 What would be the best wold to use when describing that e.g. an icon is alternating between being displayed and hidden ; the flashing / blinking / flickering icon? 回答いただきありがとうございます。関係のないことですがみえづらいですが、issa Berg のうしろに コンマがあります。keep のところは確かにすごい解釈をしていたと思います。ですが合っているといわれてよかったです。リスニングでもやはり正確に読めていないといけないと思っています。英語を英語としての理解とおっしゃることも、もちろんわかりますが、だいたいの文法の理解では複雑な文になったときに読めない原因を作ることになると思っています。
補足
補足をさせていただきます。what they had been のところの理解はどうよめばいいのでしょうか。これはこの問題が解決さえできればよいというではなく、今後似たような問題に直面したときのためにもきちんと理解したいとおもっているので質問をさせていだきました。what S was などで「昔のSは」などのことだと思います。 こちらの質問にも、回答いただけると助かります。
