（１）はい。その通りです。 （２）「纏まりのない寄せ集め」ですね。unify が「纏める」ですから。どちらにしてもいいのじゃないですか。 前の方でちょっと気になることを １。 poem は叙情詩、「叙事詩］は epic ではありませんか。 ２。事実関係は知りませんが、原文では「この叙情詩は、第二部と第四部からその題を取っている」のように見えます。 ３。この文は「ちょっと見たところでは」＝at first sight、に始まって、批評家達の読みの浅さを批判する前半ですが、これを「見どころ」と読むとこれから来る著者の意見の前触れがちゃんと前に出てこないように思われます。 余計なことを申しました。

ありがとうございます。直してみました。 こんどはどうでしょう。 (1)cantoの意味はややこしいですが、分かりました。 (2)この文は、全体的には批評家のいう通りだが、２から４章が大事だということでしょうか。 (3)この叙事詩で名高いのは第二章から第四章である。 まず、この作品は一見したところ神話の寄せ集めであり、技術的な忠告、道徳的な教訓であり、かつ、何一つ統一的な原理原則のない民間伝承の格言であるように思われる。 そして、批評家達は躊躇することなく、全体的には雑多なものからの抜粋あるいはある編集者によって書かれた短い叙事詩を編集したものであるとの観方をしてきた。 (4)なるべく直訳したいのですが、つい、意訳でつじつまを合わせようとして しまいます。 (5)cantoの語のように、英英辞書で確認すべきなのでしょう。 慣れるまで、ちょっと大変な気がします。 よろしくお願いします。
