前回はきつい言い方をしてしまって失礼しました。補足どうもありがとうございました。 そんなに不自然な訳ではないと思いますよ。 さて，本題に入る前に，No.2で「自然な日本語ではない」と決めつけられた「訳せられない」という言い方ですが，これはもともと正統派の日本語表現です。 「訳す」はもともとサ変動詞ですが，文語体では サ変動詞＋可能の助動詞「らる」で「せらる」となります。これがそのまま口語体になったのが「せられる」です。 高校の国語の教科書にも出てくる中島敦の『山月記』。この冒頭部分に， 「若くして名を虎榜（こぼう）に連ね、ついで江南尉（こうなんい）に補せられたが」 とありますが，この「補せられる」も「補す」というサ変動詞に受け身の「られる」がついたものです。 ところが，その後「訳す」をサ変ではなく五段活用として使う人が多くなりました。 したがって，可能の助動詞も「れる」がついて「訳される」となり，またさらに進めて可能動詞の「訳せる」という形も生まれました。 しかし，「訳せられる」という形が不自然だとか，まして誤りということはできません。多少あらたまった感じはしますが。 事実，三省堂『新明解国語辞典』など，最新版の第5版でも「訳する」（サ変）のほうのみを見出し語としており，「訳す」（五段）は説明に出てくるだけです。 要するに，「訳すことができる」という意味で「訳せられる」「訳される」「訳せる」のいずれも正しい，ということです。 長くなりますので，いったんここで切りましょう。
