Sampling variabiolity in patients, whether positive or negative for JX-594, may also have confounded the results. Reassuringly, the normal tissue of patients in whome replication was detected was negative for replication by immunohistochemistry. という文章の訳をしました。 JX594の陽性もしくは陰性が混乱した結果になるかどうかの変動性試料抽出をした。複製をもった患者の正常な組織は力強く免疫組織化学によって陰性が複写されたことを検出した。 とよく内容の理解ができない訳になりました。 このJX594というものを患者の静脈内に注入して腫瘍退縮性ウイルスの活動ががん患者にどのような影響を及ぼすのかという論文を読んでいたらこの文章でつまづきました。 御教授よろしくお願い申し上げます。

文法的には、カンマ-カンマ部は挿入句なので、 Sampling variability in patients, /whether positive or negative for JX-594,/ may also have confounded the results. Reassuringly,/ the normal tissue of patients/ in whom replication was detected /was negative /for replication by immunohistochemistry. と分析され、 JX-594に関し陽性か陰性に関わらず、患者体内での変動抽出はまた結果を悪化させるかもしれない。確実なのは、複製が検出された患者の正常組織は、免疫組織化学に及ぶ複製において、陰性とされることである。 と意訳されるでしょう。但し、文脈により適訳が変わる旨、留意下さい。

どなたも答えていないようですので、あまり自信がないのですが、回答しました。 JX-594を使用した結果がプラス（肯定）であれマイナス（否定）であれ、複数の患者から抽出した標本の振れはその結果をわかりにくくするだろう。この結果を裏付けるように、 １）細胞の複製がみとめらた患者の正常な細胞組織は免疫組織化学による”複製に関していえば”はマイナスであった。（訳者注：測定値がマイナスのような印象です。） ２）細胞の複製がみとめらた患者の正常な細胞組織は免疫組織化学による”複製に関していえば”は否定的であった。（訳者注：複製などが発生していないという印象です。） 前後関係が不明のため判断がつきかねます。また転記ミスと思われる箇所が２箇所有りましたので、variabilityとwhomと解釈しました。またimmunohistochemistryは免疫履歴化学とでも訳すべきと思い、ましたが、ご使用の免疫組織化学を採用しました。
