⇒同格の「下院非米活動委員会」省略したのは正解だと思います。委員会の名称の後に、その頭字語(acronym) HUACを補っておきましょう。次文以下で使うための布石です。

⇒時代「1950年代」を省略せずに入れた方がいいと思います。
