メールの文末で…
I'll keep this email short as i have to go to uni now. 文末でこのようなこと書いてありました。どのようなニュアンスなんでしょうか…？？ ぜひ、教えてください！！

文末に「～します」というのはちょっとおかしいですね。 「大学にいかなければならないので、この辺で切り上げるよ」 という意味です。

＃１です。 ＃２英語仙人のご指摘の通り、 ＞文末に「～します」というのはちょっとおかしいですね。 かったですね。 このご質問は、仙人自らのご回答があったので、１００％まず間違いなく、絶対に、もう本当に、そういうことになります。 仙人が訳すと、「手短か」といういかにも素人が訳した単語から、「この辺で切り上げるよ」という見事なやくが出来上がる事が大変参考になりました。 と言うのが私の感想です。

丸投げのような、そうではないような・・・。 宿題では、ないようなので、回答します。 直訳「これから大学に行かないといけないから、手短にメールします。」 意訳「これから大学に行かないといけないから、手短なメールで、ゴメン。」みたいなニュアンスです。 それが、はたして言い訳なのか、真実なのかは 質問者様とメールの送り主との関係を知る者でなければ分かりません。

基本的な質問で申し訳ございません。 英語のmustとhave toは共に義務を表しますよね。 例えば次の文です。 I must go to bed now. I have to go to bed now. この2つの文は ほぼ同じ意味で解していいかと思います。しかし 今度はIをYouに変えてみます。 You must go to bed now. You have to go to bed now. この場合は mustを使った方が命令調だと思うんですが、ネーティブの感覚からいくと どうなんでしょうか？

ニュアンスと訳の質問です。 知り合った彼が、私のために音楽をCDRにやいてくれました。それが完成して、I'll just keep it for you and then whenever you decide, if you decide then I'll try to get it to you.
