翻訳をお願いします。
私は会社の寮に住む男（２９歳）ですが、同じ寮に今年入社の中国人女性（２２歳）が住んでいます。この女性は日本語、英語も堪能でとても頭の良い子です。最近この子の相談に色々とのっていたのですが、突然、自分の下駄箱に下記の英文で書いた紙を貼っていました。私にはこの英文を訳しきれないので何方か訳してもらえないでしょうか？最近の彼女は仕事の不満と、彼との別れで心が泣いているみたいです。この子の支えになってあげられればと思っています。（私が彼女に対して、好きという気持ちはありません。） Not one shred of EVIDENCE exists in favor of the idea that LIFE is SERIOUS! GET IT?

お礼ありがとうございました。たいしたことは言えませんが、補足回答しますね。 私が文学的表現だと感じたのは、なんとなく普段の会話で使うような語順や語彙ではないなぁと感じたからです。 意味については、他の回答者さん以上のことはわかりませんが「まじめに生きなきゃいけない理由なんてないでしょ？」…というようなところでしょうか。ちょっとユーモアというか、皮肉っぽい言い方ですよね。 また教養を感じたのは、英語のネイティブではないという彼女が英文学の引用であるこのような言葉を知っていることからです。

直接の回答ではないことをお断りして… お示しの文学的表現に興味を覚え、そのままグーグルで検索したら山ほどヒットしました。やはり引用でしたね！ Brendan Gillというアメリカ人作家の言葉のようです。ぜひ自ら試してみてください。アメリカにはこのような引用（Quotation)ばかりを集めたサイトがいくつもあります。「今日の一言」的ですね。 それにしても、彼女の心のうちははかりかねますが、相当に教養のある方であることは間違いなさそうです。

私の人生が大変だって？ そんな証拠どこにもないじゃない？ （自分に対して）分かってんの？ 自分に勇気付けて毎日，会社へ出社しているのでしょうね．

すみません、超直訳ですが 「人生が深刻だ（ただならない状況だ）という考え（意見）を支持した上での証拠（証言？）は全く無い！わかる？」 みたいな感じでしょうか？ 状況が飲み込めないので、この人生、というのは彼女の人生でしょうかね？？ 「全く誰もあたしのこと解ってくれないよおー、他人事ばっかいって！！！」みたいな感じかなぁ？ この世で今一番つらいのが自分くらいに思ってるのかも。 （考えすぎで言い過ぎだったらすみません。） もっと頭の良い方に訳してもらえますように。。。

(2)Tragedy is true to another side of life. ビジュアル英文解釈からの引用文です。そして、『comedyは「喜劇」, true toは「・・・の真実を伝える」, side of life「人生の側面」, tragedy「悲劇」です。』と、あります。 おそらくこのtrue toの部分は意訳だと思うのですが、直訳すれば「喜劇は人生の側面にとって真実だ」という感じで意味不明な訳になります。true toというイディオムでもないしtrueという動詞も見当たらなかったのでサッパリわかりません。どなたか(1)と(2)の直訳を教えてください。 あと、これら2つの英文をasを用いて1つの英文にすると"Comedy is as true to one side of life as tragedy is to another."となると書かれているのですが、このtrueは何の度合いが等しいのですか。訳は『喜劇が人生の一面の真実を伝えるのは, 悲劇が他の面の真実を伝えるのと同じである』となっていますが、意味がまったくわかりません。 意味の解説をお願いします。m(__)m

彼女もかなりの教養を持っていますが、uspegaさんもかなりの教養をお持ちみたいですね。色々と回答していただき有り難うございました。 少しだけ彼女のことが分かった反面、益々分からなくなってしまったのが正直なとこです。彼女の支えになってあげられればと思っていましたが、とても支えてあげられそうにありません。ただ、悲しいときには側にいてあげようかと思います。 私もuspegaさんと同じくらいの教養があれば彼女を支えられうのかもしれません。羨ましいです。
