逆向性健忘症の論文を読んでるんですが

論文を読んでいて Depending on the locus and extent of brain damage, retrograde amnesia can be equivalent across past time periods, or it can be temporally graded. という文があり、自分では 脳の損傷の部位と範囲によって、逆向性健忘症は過去の期間を通して等しくなることができる。もしくは、時間的にクラス分けすることができる。 と訳したんですが、 retrograde amnesia can be equivalent across past time periods, or it can be temporally graded は実際にどういうことを言っているのでしょうか？ across past time periods　と　temporally graded　がどういうニュアンスなのかわからず困ってます。 アドバイスお願いします。

　脳の損傷の部位と範囲によって，過去のどの時期も同じように思い出せなくなったり，思い出せない時期が段階的に違ってきたりする。 　訳として不適切かもしれませんが，こんな感じではないでしょうか。もちろん，1番の方2番の方の回答と異なる内容ではありません。

意味は#1さんの指摘のとおりです。 こんな訳でいかがでしょう。 脳損傷の部位と範囲に応じて， 逆行健忘は期間を通して一様になることもあれば， 時間軸に沿って程度が変化することもある。 なお“retrograde amnesia”は 「逆行健忘（症）」というのが心理学業界の定訳になっています。 他の業界は知りませんが。

1、equivalent across past time periods と、 2、temporally graded の二種類の逆行性健忘症があることが説明されています。 1は、ある期間を通してloss of memoryの度合いが等しい 2は、脳が損傷を受けた頃のloss of memoryの度合いが大きく、その時点から離れるにつれて、loss of memory の度合いが少なくなる ってことではないでしょうか。grade の派生語としてはgradationグラデーションがあります。なんとなくイメージできますでしょうか。
