英文法についての質問です。
Since the director unexpectedly resigned,〇〇 has been apointed as the acting head of human resources. 上記の英文についてですが、〇〇 was appointedではなく、has been appointedになるのは 〇〇が任命されたのは部長が辞めたのと同時点では無く、部長が辞めた後から現在のいずれかの時点であるためという考え方であっていますか？ もし考え方が間違っているのであれば、過去形ではなく完了形になる理由を教えて頂きたいです。 よろしくお願い致します。

こんばんは、以下回答します。 １） A was appointed ２）A has been appointed 正解は２）、冒頭のsinceによって完了形にします。 主様の解釈がチョコっと違っているように思います。 部長が辞めたのが仮に３年前とすると、 それからの３年間ずっとＡが任命されている、と継続していることを表しています。 一方、１）は３年前に任命された、とだけ述べて、その後の３年間はＡのままなのか、Ｂが選ばれたのか、全く触れていません。

not sinceが使われた文の文法についてなんですが、 Probably not since the days of the Pharaohs or the more ludicrous Roman Emperors has a head of state travelled in such pomp and expensive grandeur as the President of the United States of America. という表現では、後半の"head of state"が主語の肯定文にみえるのですが、次の例 No one has lived there for over 2,000 years - not since the summer of the year A.D. 79, to be exact. では、文の構造が逆になっており、かつ、not sinceの内容だけでなく、対になった節でNo oneが使われた否定文のような内容になっています。(前者の例から推測すると、People has lived there～という肯定文とペアになるような気がしてしまうのですが) どういうルールがあるのでしょうか。 よろしくお願いします。
