blossom と flower
This is your chance to blossom with the flowers around you. とはどういう意味になりますか？ blossom も flowers も花という意味だと思っていたのですが…。 そうすると意味がおかしいですよね。

"blossom"は果物のなる木（果樹"fruit tress"）に咲く花 （例）cherry blossoms; orange blossoms; apple blossoms **「花が咲く」という自動詞もあります。同じような語に"bloom"というのもあります。名詞、自動詞両方の働きがあります。特に「観賞用の花」の意味。 "flower"はその他の花一般です。 この両者（３者？）は親戚の語なんです。"b"と"f"をそれぞれ交換すれば相手の語に綴りが似てきます。 "blo-"←→"flo"という関係です。

これがあなたの周りの花とともに咲く（blossom）チャンスですね。 春で、外の花も咲いているように、あなたも咲くチャンスだ、という意味合いも 込めているのかもしれません。 blossomは動詞・咲くで使われています。

英語の問題を解いていていくつか疑問に思ったので、教えてください(｡>人<｡) ⑴She emphasized the differences in the values held by those around her as individuality. 彼女は周囲の価値観と異なる部分を個性として強調した。 上記の後半those around her について、よく出るthose (people) whoのことかと思ったのですが、なぜwhoが無いのでしょうか？ whoまで省略できるのはその後がbe動詞の時と習っていたので、なぜか教えてください。そもそもthose (people) whoでは無いのでしょうか…？ ⑵Being surrounded by those you love. 大好きな人たちに囲まれていること。 こちらも⑴と同じくなのですが、those you love はなぜwhoが無いのでしょうか？ ⑶If you look closely, you will see that happinesses is never that far away. よく見れば、幸せはいつだってそばにある。 far away の前のthat はどういう文法で使われているのでしょうか？必要性がわからず。。。 ⑷ I know what flower this is. この花が何か知っています。 間接疑問文についてですが、これは I know what this flower is.では間違いなのでしょうか。くっつける前がそもそもWhat flower is this?ではなくWhat is this flower ？なのかと思ってしまい、疑問に思いました。 恐れ入りますが、ご回答よろしくお願いいたします。

I do believe that if you are engaged with your hobby seriously, probably the success will smile at you.」 大まかな意味しかわかりません。あっているでしょうか？ 「私は、あなたの趣味を仕事に変えたらいいと思う。なぜなら、好きな事をするのはあなたの人生でとても大事だから。もし、あなたがあなたの趣味に真剣に取り組むならきっと、成功がほほえむだろう」 こんなかんじでしょうか？？？それとも程遠いでしょうか？ 「whether you want」 と「engaged with your hobby 」がいまいち上手く訳せません。どなたか教えていただけないでしょうか？よろしくお願いします。

『主語＋be動詞＋形容詞＋for 人なのかto 人なのか』がよくわかっていません。次のように考えています。 (1)This flower is beautiful to me. (2)My hobby is making corsages. I'll use one of these flowers for my corsage. This flower is beautiful for me. (1)はそのままでOK. (2)を言うときは「何かに使うのに」この花は、美しい。というfeelingでならfor meも使える。(2)のThis flower is beautiful for me.だけを言うとNativeから "For what? " と聞かれて当然と思っているならfor も使える。そういう意図がないなら、This flower is beautiful だけの文につづけるなら(2)は間違っている。to meを使うべきである。 (3)It's interesting for me to read the book. (4)It's kind of you to help me. (3)(4)の使いかたは理解できます。問題は、it(形式主語）のto不定詞の主語や性格を表す形容詞とその行動する人「of 人」でない、はっきりしない文での、「主語＋be動詞＋形容詞＋for 人? to 人？」がよくわからないのです。 (2)のような使い方をすると Those pants are tight for me. もmeがto wear them するのを連想させるのでokだと考えられます。こんな考え方でいいですか？ 教えてください。よろしくお願いいたします。

感嘆文の時は、 What a beautiful flower this is! のように、flower に a が付くと思いますが、 花の種類をたずねる時は、 What flower is this? なんでしょうね。 What a flower is this! のようにならない理由は、どんな風に説明すればいいでしょうか ？
