ひとつ，わかりやすい例をあげておきます。 He is old enough to smoke. 「彼はたばこを吸うだけの年齢に達している」 He isn't old enough to smoke. 「彼はたばこを吸うのに十分な年齢ではない，彼はたばこを吸っていい年齢ではない」

少し前に質問させていただいたのと同様にまた二つの文です。 The window was ( ) to see through. 正解は（not too dirty)ですが、他の選択肢で(hardly dirty enough)というのがあります。 解説でhardlyは「全体を否定する」とありますが、これは常に「hardlyは全体を否定する」と覚えてよろしいでしょうか？ At this coner there occurred an accident that was to be remembered for years. この文のthere occurredの構文がわかりません。分詞構文…ではないですよね？ よろしくお願いします。

中学校の英文法の問題です。 (1)と同じような内容の文にするためには(2)の下線部はどうなるでしょうか？ so～that...の文でfor her to speak..といった形は初めてなので、想像がつきません。 (1)She was too shocked to speak any more. (2)She was so shocked that________ ________ ________for her to speak any more. 宜しくお願いいたします。

並び替えの問題で分からない問題があります。 一応自分でもやってみましたが、答えに自信がないので解答をお願いします。 1. 「実際に犬がその病気にかかるのは10％にもなるが、死ぬ犬はほとんどいない。」 (10%/although/as/as/many/of/the dogs/will) actually develop the desease, very few will die. 私の答え → Although 10% as many of the dogs as will 2. 「その穴は人が通り抜けられるほど大きくはなかった。」 The hole (a man/was/large/for/to/enough/not) get through. 私の答え → was not large for a man enough to 宜しくお願いします。

いつもお世話になっています。 （person, that, the last, the boys, spoke to）was their teacher. 以上の（ ）内を並べ替えて、意味の通る一文を作る問題が大学入試用の問題集にあったのですが、分からないところがあります。 正答は、（The last person that spoke to the boys） was their teacher.で「その少年達に話しかけた最後の人物は彼らの先生だった。」という意味になるのは分かるのですが、 （The last person that the boys spoke to）was their teacher. でも、「その少年達が話しかけた最後の人物は彼らの先生だった。」で意味が通るし、文法的にも特におかしくないような気がするのですが、なぜこちらは正答にならないのでしょうか。どなたかご教示ください。 よろしくお願いします。

I was wondering how on earth I was going to get through the evening. Saturday. Saturday night and I was left alone with my grandmother. The others had gone --- my mother and my sister, both dating. Of course, I would have gone, too, if I had been able to get away first. Then I would not have had to think about the old woman, going through the routines that she would fill her evening with. 最後の一文にあるgoing throughを文法的にどう解釈すればよいのか分かりません。and的な分詞構文と考えてI would not have gone throughとしてよいのか、全く別の解釈ができるのでしょうか。
