一度書きましたが， 間接疑問文（疑問詞節）where SV で「どこで～するか」も 関係副詞（先行詞省略あるいは含む）「～する場所」も 同じ。 「なぜ～するか」も 「～する理由」も同じ。 「どのように～するか」も 「～する方法」も同じ。 これを when に当てはめたら 「いつ～するか」 「～する時」 この段階ではすべて名詞節です。 ただ，when は従属接続詞として副詞節になることが多い。 where では「どこで～するか」と「～する場所」 when ほどではないが，where にも「～するところでは」という接続詞にもなる。 yesterday が名詞でもあり，副詞でもあるのは 日本語で，「昨日」を「昨日（は），～した」とするのと同じ。 every ～，last ～なんかも同じ。 on Monday の場合は普通 on が必要と習うが，新聞などでは Monday で「月曜日（に）～した」の意味になる。 別に日本語でそうなるからというのでなく，たまたまかもしれないが日本語と同じなので，そう考えるとわかりやすい。 When we eat is important as well as what we eat. 「何を食べるのかと同様，いつ食べるのかが大切」 このような when we eat is ～という英語は普通に用いられています。 疑問詞節「いつ～するか」を「～する時」とするとかなりイメージが違いますが，これはたまたま日本語でそうなのであり，「どこ」と「場所」と同じように，これも対して差はないと思います。 ただ，言っておきますが，副詞節 when が名詞節の副詞的用法なんていうことは日本の学校では教えません。

I remenber when he was a child. この文章の意味が「私は、彼が子供だった時のことを覚えている。」 となっていたのですが、when（接続詞）には名詞節と副詞節があり、 この場合は明らかにremenberの目的語で名詞節になるのはわかりますが、whenの名詞節は「いつ～するか」であって、「～時のこと」などという意味は辞書にも載ってません。前後の文脈からして前者が正しいのもわかりますが、文法的説明をよろしくお願いします。
