・This Policy of Containment stated that the US would try to stop the spread of Communism by creating strategic alliances or support to help weak countries to resist Soviet advances.
・The purpose of the Containment policy was to restrict the spread of communism abroad by diplomatic, military and economic actions.
こちらの文って、ほぼ言っていることが一緒だと思うのですが、どうでしょうか？

The purpose of the Containment policy was to restrict the spread of communism abroad by diplomatic, military and economic actions.
