そうですね。＃1の方がおっしゃる通り、繋いだ2つの例文で意味が違っています。his nameとは誰の名前のことでしょうか？ 学校の先生が不自然といったのは、主語が長くなるからではないでしょうか？まあ、この文章自体、もともと不自然であると思いますが。
