動詞としての approach には他動詞用法もありますが, my first visit to ~のように,名詞 visit と同様,to 名詞です。

Education Techniques for Lifelong Learning In two different studies, researchers found that teachers believed adults to be significantly more intellectually curious, motivated to learn, willing to take responsibility for their learning, willing to work hard at learning, clear about what they want to learn, and concerned with the practical applications and implications of learning than were children and adolescents. 最後の ~ than were children and adolescents.

Mary Bousted, Assosiation of Teachers and Lecturers ゛The idea that you can simply take the skills and abilities you've learnt in war or on the parade ground or through army manoeuvres, and those can be translated undigested into teaching without any further training is ridiculous. You need to learn about different approaches to teaching and learning and need to learn the research theories about new approaches particularly international approaches." Cath: So Mary Bousted says the skills and abilities learnt in war can't be translated undigested into teaching. Rob, what does she mean by undigested? Rob: She's talking about transferring skills to the classroom without any thought or without adapting them for children. She thinks the idea is ridiculous! その中のthe skills and abilities learnt in war can't be translated undigested into teaching.

Societies which recognize that pacta sunt servanda among their own members,do not find it difficult to recognize the advantages of fulfilling obligations and contacts in dealings with individuals and groups in different societies. The fact that all societies appear to recognize that there is an obligation to fulfil contacts, alongwith prudential advantage in fulfilling them (just as,it is often argued, they all recognize rules that limit violence among their members and enjoin respect for rights of property) provides a basis for the extension of the principle of the sanctity of contracts beyond the bounds of particular societies.

In the third period, the child makes rapid progress in increasing his or her vocabulary and learning new skills in discovering the meaning of unfamiliar words by the way the words are used in the reading material. In addition, children during this period of reading development learn to read for different purposes and in different subjects, such as science and history. They learn that reading, besides being something that one dose at school, is also something that one can do alone, for fun, for factual information, or to learn more about the world in general. Finally, in the fourth period, the student improves the skills that have been leaned. He or she develops the ability to connect ideas from one piece of writing to another, and learns to compare the opinions of different writers on the same subject. Young persons should reach the fourth period of reading by the time they are 13 or 14 years old, and, if they try, they can continue to increase their reading ability for the rest of their lives. They can read by themselves and are prepared to learn more about reading.

It is now generally accepted that the child's reading ability progresses through several periods of reading development. The first period, known as "reading readiness," begins at birth and continues normally until the age of about six or seven. Reading readiness includes the physical ability to see and hear, and the mental ability to remember words and their letters, and to use simple sentences. In the second period of reading development, children learn to read very simple materials. In the United States, children usually will be able to read perhaps 300 or 400 words by the end of the first year. By the end of this period., pupils are expected to be reading and enjoying simple books by themselves without help from teachers or parents.

“While the solutions to our problems advocated in the late 1960s by both radical activists and the “flower children” were too often native, self- indulgent, personally destructive, internally inconsistent, and ultimately unworkable, the deficiencies in our society that they identified- the need for greater intimacy and more love; for a lesser emphasis on ruthless competition, status- seeking, and “role- playing games”; for greater self-awareness, honesty, and freedom to be oneself; for resistance to coercion and corruptive authority- all remain pressing challenges today” (Conger, 1976, p, 21).

You have a fear of abandonment, and a desire to feel loved, to feel secure again, this may cause you to pursue the man too hard, to be too demanding, to want to see him too often, to make contact too frequently. You may fill your life up with nothing else but him, and hope he does the same, but this is like crushing a rose or a finch, while grasping it too tightly in your hands. Love dies that way. You risk frightening him off by your intensity by you constant demands for his attention.
