直訳では汲みきれない意味が込められてそうな歌詞なので、意味するところが知りたいです。

私もストロークス大好きです、少し意味深な歌詞ですよね。

意訳や難しくて訳しにくくて変な箇所もありますがだいたいこんな感じの内容だと思います。
恋人とすれ違ってる男性の胸の内ではないでしょうか。
一緒にいたいけど彼女は自分を褒めたり認めたり、おだててくれるような人が理想で
お伽話のようにいつだって君のもとに飛んでいくよ、っていうような男性を求めてて
彼はそういうことをするタイプの人間ではなく、もっと現実的なタイプの人で
彼女の事が好きだったけど、彼女は本当の自分を好きになってくれないだろうから
一緒にはいられないよね、っていう感じのストーリーを私は思いました。
本当の意味する所は詩を書いた本人にしかわからないかもしれませんね。
