この関係代名詞がわかりません
The purpose of politics is to rid human social life of the violence that is the price of anarchy by substituting for it the peace and security of which the price is law and order. 「政治の目的は、人間社会から、無政府状態の代償である暴力を除去し、そのかわりに、法と秩序を代償とする平和と安全をもたらすことである。」 the peace and security of which the price is law and order. というところがわかりません。 「法と秩序を代償とする平和と安全」を書くとすれば自分なら 「the peace and security which is price of law and order.」 変な感じがしますが、仮にofをwhichの前に出しても、 「the peace and security of which is price law and order.」 になってしまいます。

of which 「それ（平和と安全）に関しては」 the price is law and order 「代償は法と秩序」 ということでしょう。 the peace and security of which the price is.. は the peace and security, the price of which is .. としても意味は変わらないと思います。

捉え方が違うと思います。 the peace and security of which the price is law and order のところは、「その中では代償が法と秩序であるところの、平和と安全」と解釈すべきです。 つまり、「平和と安全の中では、代償が法と秩序である」と言っています。 sokoniattaさんの捉え方は、平和と安全そのものが法と秩序の代償であるとしていると思います。 説明がへたでおわかりになりにくいかも知れませんが。。。

お書きになった訳で問題ないと思いますが。 代償をコストとか必要悪と考えると解りやすいかもしれません。 法や秩序はそれ自体として望ましいものではないが、結局必要 なものだ、という立場が前提にあると思います。
