英訳へのアドバイスお願いします

下記英文を訳しました。原文に忠実に且つ、日本文として適切に訳したいのですが、もっと良い訳があるかと思いますのでアドバイスお願いします。 (1) earn designation as a LEED Silver rated sustainable building by U.S.Green Building Council. （訳） U.S. Green Building Councilによって（地球環境を破壊せずに）持続可能な建物と評価されるLEED（Leadership Energy and Environmental Design）Silverの認定を受ける (2) LEED designation is given to buildings that reflect the principals of environmentak stewardship when it comes to site selection, water and evergy efficiency. （訳） LEED（Leadership Energy and Environmental Design）の認定ポイントは、用地選定や水やエネルギーの効率性について、環境への責務の理念を反映している建物に与えられます。

大変申し訳ないのですが、この文章だけですと背景が分かりがたく、意味を正しく解釈するのは困難です。 加えて、日本語は、残念ながら分かりにくくなってしまっています。 ついでに言えば、１と２は別な質問でもよかったかもしれません。 恐らく、直訳は難しいので、いくつかの文章に分けなくてはならないとおもいます。 直接の回答になっていなくて、すみません。
