本来はif (it is) taken (by us)で、it isとby usは不要なため省略されています。

the brain in human beings. there may be excess dopamine activity. these abnormalities could be due to genetics. この、beとか、beingという英単語の役割がよくわかりません。（よく長文では目にしますが…） 具体的には、単純に「ある」とか、「存在している」という意味をもっているのか、 それとも文の構造として様々な意味合いを持っているのか等です。 私には、一見、なんの意味ももたないように思えます。 be,beingによって、どういったニュアンスが生まれるのか 概要を教えていただけないでしょうか。 過去ログを検索して、過去分詞的な意味合いを持つ事は理解できました。 （「～されること」のように，受身の意味で動名詞にすると， be ＋過去分詞という受身の be の部分に ing をつけて，being ＋過去分詞になる。） また、文頭のbeingで分詞構文になることもわかりました。

お世話になります。以下の問題ですが、正解は(2)だと思うのですが、なぜ(4)がいけないのかわかりやすく教えていただけますか。 Tom was the only person ( ) in that car accident. (1) injure (2) injured (3) injuring (4) being injured Tom was the only person (who was) injured in that car accident. 関係代名詞とbe動詞の省略ではないかと思うのですが、分詞構文では以下のような説明があります。 Being written in easy English… のbeingは省略できる ということは、省略しなくても間違いではないですよね？だったら(4)も正解にならないのかなと思った次第です。

Another reason is that by social status you lose an oppotunity to have food and cause disease because if you can't get nutrition by eating food, you may lack nutrition. therefore, I think a lot of developed countries should help developing countries to solve social status problems.
