What on earth do you think could possibly happen here that would be such a disaster? 「表現のための実践ロイヤル英文法」の中に出てきた文です。 前後の文脈はなく、文法問題の一つとして載っています。 私としては以下のように考えたのですが、この理解は正しいでしょうか。 ・on earth＝修飾語、 do you think＝挿入句 ・文の骨格＝What could possibly happen here？（Whatが主語の第一文型） ・that would be such a disasterは関係代名詞としてWhatを修飾 拙訳 「ひどい災害になる（をもたらす）かもしれない、一体どんなことが、ことによるとこの場所でおこると考え（思い）ますか。」

In a society where slavery in the strict sense has been abolished the sign that what a man does is of social value is that he is paid money to do it. という文ですが、 各代名詞が何を受けているのかが分かりません。 he は a man を受けているのではないかと思うのですが、 文末のitは what a man does あるいは what を受けていると考えたらよいのでしょうか？

2007年の東北大学の英語の過去問です 訪れた異国の印象を語ろうとするとき、私がまず思い浮かべるのは食べ物でも建物でもなく、私が言葉を交わした人の顔であり、考え方である。そこに何があったかより、そこに誰がいたかをまず考える。 この文を、僕は↓のように英訳しました When I talk about impressions of a foreign country which once I visited, what hits on me first is not foods or buildings, but a person who had conventions with me or the way he thinks. I think first who was there, next I think what there were. どこか文法的な誤り、または内容的に不自然な点がありましたら、教えてくださいm(__)m

- 好きな英語がわからない。解説お願いします
中3女子 私は英語が好きでアメリカも好きです。 英語を得意科目にして友達に教えられるくらいになりたいです。 アメリカにいっても困らないくらいに英語を理解したいと思っています。 習ったときはわかっていても、なんとなくわかってるだけとかが嫌なので、もっとちゃんと理解しようとか思って、 文法について考えてみたりbe動詞だからー…とか考えるとわからなくなります。 簡単なことだと思うのですが、お願いします！ what do you doing? でなにしてるの？ だと思っていました。 でも正しくは what are you doing?ですよね？ ・まずこの違いがわかりません。are you?は形容詞など、do you?は動詞などって感じかなぐらいです。 ・doは一般動詞なのにbe動詞と一緒になっているのもよくわからないです。 一緒になるのは現在/過去進行形だけだと思っていました。 この文はその文法に当てはまるのですか？ ・what do you doing とは言わないのにwhat do you do?とはいうことができるというのも理解できません。 他の分からない点もでてくると思うけど、主にこの3つくらいです。 お願いします！！
