「speed on」 - これが熟語としては無かったので、近隣の 「speed off in a car」 に気が付きました。 意味としては、「車に乗って早々に立ち去る」とありましたので、作者は「speed on」で「良ければ早速読んでみてよ」と言いたかったのではないかと。 何れにしても、さして重要事では無いような気もします。

たびたび有難うございます。 初めの回答を受けて全体的なニュアンスが分かったので知ったのですが、どうやら"bring ~ up to speed"という表現があるようで、「～に通常・目標のスピードを出させる」「～に最大の効果をあげさせる」そして「～によく分からせる、予備知識を与える」などの意味があるそうです。"on"以降は「私の身におきた2，3の出来事について」と普通に解釈してよさそうです。 なので、全体的には「こんな事があったんだけれど書いてみるから、もし忙しくないんなら読んでくれる人はよろしくね」という感じかな、とおもいます。
補足
連投になりますが今ちょっと気付きました。 "should they not ~"の節の"they"は「読者」じゃなくて"a couple big things happening in my life"でしたね。 ということは「猛スピードと言うわけではないけれど、最近自分の身に起こりつつある2，3の大きな出来事について（みんなに読んでもらえたらうれしいな）」となるということですね。
