ageの訳し方
塗装に関する耐性試験の試料についての英文で The time of sampling shall be selected so that the age of the test specimen correspods to the shortest possible supply condition of the installed part in plant.とありました。この文でのageの訳し方が分かりません。この文のニュアンスとしてどのようにageを訳せばいいのでしょうか？

The time of sampling shall be selected so that the age of the test specimen corresponds to the shortest possible supply condition of the installed part in plant. 「the age of the test specimen」は、 上記の文意に沿えば、「使用年数」「経年」とすれば意は通ります。 「直訳」 検査用試料の経年(使用した年数)は、、、、プラント装置設置部品の最速供給体制に呼応するものを選択すべき物とする。 「解説」 もし本部品を交換すべき事態になった場合に備えて、(同プラントに使用されている)同一部品が、最短時間で交換出来る経年部品を検査するように検査時期を選択しなければならない。

こんな情報も参考になされてはいかがでしょうか？ 経年変形 - secular change(室温で長年月の間に形状が変化する事。材 料の寸法、形状の変化） 経年変化 - aged deterioration(腐食摩耗などの物理的変化） アルクだと： 経年劣化 aged deterioration // aging // aging degradation 経年変化 age softening // secular change // secular distortion // secular variation とか出ていて、ちょっと定義のズレがあるみたいですけど、おそらくいろいろな方面で、この用語を使うグループによってちょっとずつ違う定義としてs使われているのかもしれませんね。 本文の場合も、テストの種類や目的で定義の意味合いは変わるかもしれませんが、いずれにしてもテスト品の条件を現実の条件に合わせてシミレーションテストをしたいんでしょうね、きっと。 どんな試料なのかがわかるともうちょっといいかも、、、、、、。

サンプリング(抜き取り)テストのタイミングは、テスト品が、工場組付け現物部品として供給成立する最短時間での部品コンデションレベルと同等の経時(経年）変化になる様にそのタイミングを選ばなければいけないよ。 という意味だと思うのですが、、、、、。

こんにちは。 Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire [UK, adult版]p.421の下のほうの文 マクゴナガル先生がハリーとロンに注意するときのセリフです。 'Now Potter and Weasley have been kind enough to act their age.' 'さあ、ポッターもウィーズリーも年相応な振舞いをしていただきたいものです。' 'act their age'は'年相応に振舞う'という意味なのはわかりましたが、 なぜ'have been kind enough'が'していただきたいものです'となるのかがわかりません。 'kind enough'は'親切にも～する、わざわざ～する'という意味のようですが、そこからなぜ’していただきたいものです’となるのでしょうか？ここではなぜ現在完了形を使っているのでしょうか？ 日本人の私はこういう日本語訳から英語を作ろうとすると 'Potter and Weasley, you want to act their age.' といった英語にしてしまいそうです。 教えてください。 よろしくお願いします。
