仰せのとおりですね。 電車にのっている状態ならば get off at the next station で事足りると思います。 余談ですけども、atがない、 get off the next station でも音的には十分通じると思います。 we both are on the train については、ＯＫなので敢えて言及しませんでした。スイマセンでした。 最後のin とon ですが、通常はonを使うと思います。 特に手段として乗っているであれば、onでよいと思います。 They found out that we both were in the train. のように、 「中に」隠れているのが見つかった。 など、状況に応じてinでも可ではないかという意味でした。 あと手段をいう場合に、考えられるのは、通例ですが、 車のような「閉じた狭いものに乗って」の時はin（狭い空間の中に入って）ですし、 電車・船舶など、「比較的母体が大きなものに乗って」の時は、乗っかる意味合いのonの使用頻度が多いと思います。 ただ、本人の感覚や使用条件で、どちらでも大差が無く通じるという意味でした。 手段に関しては、by car やin a small car やby the fast carなどは、どう違いがあるのかなど突き詰めれば何だかつらくなってきますので、音的には吸収されがちな前置詞は、自分の持たれているイメージで十分使えるものとなると思われます。 スイマセン長くなりました・・・。
