英語のおやじギャグが分からない
Google Assistant にTell me dad gag.と聞いて以下のように返ってきました。 How did the banana pay for their lunch? They split the bill. 分からずに笑えません。

＃１です。補足です。 ＞＞割り勘は直ぐに分かって、banana splitというデザートがるのも調べて分かっていたんですがこれがなぜギャグになるのかわからなくて質問しました。 では、もう材料は揃っていたので、余計な回答でしたね。失礼しました。 親父ギャグは、ウィキに「主に中高年層の男性が頻繁に使う、駄洒落や地口の要素をふんだんに含んだ安直なギャグのことである」と定義されています。 あまりに「安直」だったので、お気づきにならなかったのでしょう。アメリカなどでは普通無視される代物です。

バナナスプリットに掛けているのかな。と思いました。 瓶と缶が食事のあとの支払いで揉めています。 瓶はおごってやると言っていますが，缶は半額だすよと言って聞きません。 だって，わり「かん」だけに・・・・お後がよろしいようで。 見たいな感じでしょうね。

How did the banana pay for their lunch? 直訳すると「バナナは昼食にどのように支払いましたか？」ですが、 丁寧というかわかりやすく？和訳すると「どうやって、バナナは昼食代を払っていますか？」になり、その回答が They split the bill. 「割り勘にする」とか「分割する」の意味です。 そもそもバナナがお昼を食べることも、支払いをすることもありませんね。 ここがミソで、アメリカのジャンクなデザートにbanana-splitがあるので、これに掛かっているのです。 まぁ流れで言えば、リンゴとバナナが会話をしていて、 リンゴ「ねぇバナナさん。ランチの支払いはどうするの？」 バナナ「バナナスプリットになるよ」 要するに自分が商品になって支払う。 日本で言えば「皿洗いして詫びる」感じですかね。
