cause の否定表現ってあるのでしょうか？？

間違いでありませんが、回りくどいので to be absent from the meeting to stay away from the meeting の方がいいでしょう。

not as...as to 、とnot so...as toの違いはありますか？ 例）The wind was not as strong as to prevent us from sky-diving. The wind was not so strong as to prevent us from sky-diving. 上の例文が正解だったのですが、どうして下の例文が不正解なのかがわかりません。 教えていただけたら幸いです。

The manager is（ ）by his men. の答えとして、ill spoken of が入るそうなんですが、 speak ill ofで～のことを悪く言う、という意味ですから、 spoken ill ofの間違いではないでしょうか？ また、The young male clerks were not（ ）to their duties hard. には、attending to という答えが入るみたいですが、 これはどういう意味ですか？ attend toには～のいうことを注意して聞く、という意味がありますけど、dutyには「人」を指す意味はないのでおかしいと思っているのですが・・・。

ある参考書の一文です Not both of my parents were injured in a traffic accident.とすれば部分否定になるのですか？ それがそうとはいかないんだ、理屈ではそうなんだろうけども、bothの場合には、Not bothが文頭にくる言い方はないんだ。 それでは部分否定にするにはどうすればよいのですか？ Only one of my parents was injured in a traffic accident. と、Only one ofを使うしかないね。 否定も結構ややこしいですね。 と記載されていました。 Not all of等といった言い方はあるのにbothだけが駄目な理由が気になり質問したところ、 either of とすればいいから、not both of にならないんじゃない?という人がいました。 皆さんはどう考えますか？
