You study English hard. → You must study English hard. ただし、speak well of, think highly of のような群動詞の受動態として take care of などと同様 be spoken well of というのが学校で教える英語のように思います。

http://www.eibunpou.net/04/chapter12/12_3.html

  • 動詞句の受動態 well spoken of か spoken well of か?

They speak well of the new resident. The new resident is well soken of by them. The new resident is spoken well of by them.

同じ構造のものでもdo away withはbe done away withとなりますよね。

He is honest in all he does. Have you ever heard him (spoken) ill of by others? 選択肢は speak speaking spoken to speak です。

(1)Don't let your failure discourage you. (2)None of us have heard anything of him. Don't let yourself be discouraged by your failure. Nothing has been heard of him by us. He has been heard nothing about him by us.

"The world knows nothing of its greatest men." That may be true, but how can we tell? If we know nothing about them, we cannot tell whether they were great. But there is a good chance that, by the time the world knows about them, they will have ceased to be great. A man usually does his best work just before he is found out. If he has done anything very well, there is a conspiracy to prevent him from doing it again. He becomes a celebrity, and the lion-hunters give him no peace. It must be owned that sometimes he likes it. But there is a good chance that, by the time the world knows about them, they will have ceased to be great. If he has done anything very well, there is a conspiracy to prevent him from doing it again. It must be owned that sometimes he likes it.

  • He is said to be a liar.

He is said to be a liar.(彼は嘘つきといわれている)という文章を能動態にするとどうなるのでしょうか? 例えば: 受動態 He(主語) was taken to the park by me. 能動態 I take him(目的語) to the park. けど、 受動態 He(主語)is said to be a liar. をすなおに 能動態 Someone says him(目的語) to be a liar. (????)

He has been pulled alive from the car. They has pulled alive him from the car. Alive him has been pulled from the car. They has pulled him alive from the car. He has been pulled alive from the car. They has pulled him (who is alive) from the car. He (who is alive) has been pulled from the car.

He is said to be very poor (彼は非常に貧しいと言われている) この[is said to be]で[~と言われている]という 熟語なのでしょうか? The new school buildings are expected to be completed by spring next year. [are expected to be]の解釈の仕方が分かりません。
