英語の発音が聞き取れません

no1です。 補足を拝見しました。 weblioの例文音声ですが、きいてみましたが、あれは、機械音声です。 たぶん一語一語は、本物の人がサンプルとして録音した声でしょうが、それを機械的に並べて発音しているだけで、きちんと一語一語発音しています。 すこし言い訳になりますが、わたしはネイティヴと結婚しているので普段は、毎日自宅にいるときには、英語だけということもあり、その点は、ほかの日本人よりも、英語をたくさん聞いているとおもいます。 たぶん、girl,earth、first、apple、これらの正しい発音を聞かれても、きれいに聞こえないような気がします。 いずれも、日本人にはたいへん聞き取りにくい発音です。 妻も英語をならっている日本人とskypeで会話していますが、そばできいていても、やっとなんとか英語ではなせるようなレベルの人は、妻がはなしている英語が聞き取れていません。 半分も聞き取れていないようで、一緒にいるときには、わたしが通訳することがあります。 その反面、若い頃に留学した経験のある人などは、妻の友人で電話してきて話しているのをそばできいていても、英語はすぐでるようで、どんどん日本人独特のカタカナに近いような英語で話すし、妻が普通にしゃべってもきれいに聞き取っています。 例にネットで見える英語学習番組がありますから、紹介します。 この番組は、英語字幕がでるのと、はなしている内容はかなり簡単な英語です。 また、解説はおそろしくゆっくり話しています。 なおこの番組はイギリスで作成されているようですが、妻(イギリス人)によると、ドラマに出ている人(スペイン人でない方)は、アメリカ人がイギリス英語を真似、その真似の度合いがイギリスアクセントに完全になっていないと言っていました。 また、かなりゆっくりはなし解説しているガブリエルという先生は、そうとうイギリスアクセントを学んだアメリカ人だそうです。 外国人にはわからないだろうけど、イギリス人には、アクセントの違いから、このドラマにでている指導員はアメリカ人だとわかるそうです。 (ちなみにわたしには、そこまではわかりません) それはともかく、このような英語番組をよく聞かれて、正しいアクセントから始められることをおすすめします。

She did not marry him just because he was rich. の意味は１通りですか？ 背景： She did not marry him because he was rich. 上の例では not は１）直後の動詞、２）Because節 を否定すると考えられます。（２通り） １）彼女は彼が金持ちだったので結婚しなかった。 ２）彼女が結婚したのは彼が金持ちだったからではない。 しかし、いくつかのWebサイトで She did not marry him just because he was rich. のようにbecauseの前にjust, simply等を入れると２）の意味だけとなり、１）の意味ではなくなると指摘しています。 私はjust, simply等を前に入れたところで２つの意味にとれることに変わりないと思うのですが。 １）彼女はただ単に彼が金持ちだったので結婚しなかった。 ２）彼女が結婚したのはただ単に彼が金持ちだったからではない。 いかがでしょうか？

ペンパルからのメールです。 自分のペット（犬とねずみ）の話なのですが、詳しく教えてください。 英語圏の人ではないので、よくスペルミスをする人なのですが、たぶん間違いだろうと思うところは直しました。 I have a dog and a rat. I know You may not like rats, but this one is different - he's very clean animal- just like cat. I did not planned to have a rat, but after my dog was operated ("Ruda" - ルダ - redhead, because she's redhead like a fox) she changed a lot. My dog became very pessimistic, started to think about life and death. All i want to say is that i felt like i lost my dog- she was staring at the window day after day. So to help her with her depression i gave her little rat to raise. That moment changed everything. Now they are good friends, rat fall asleep laying on her back:). They are both great and they make my parents laugh what is important. Well i planned to put a cat between them, but my dog did not agree it:).

早速の追加説明を有難うございます。ドラマを見ました。先生の英語は（字幕なしで）７割ほど理解、ドラマの方は９割がた理解できました。やはりスペイン人の発音の方が聞きやすいのは当然かも。スペインの方が話していた内容なら、現在の私のレベルならその８割ぐらい話せそうです。 去年の９月から英語の勉強を始めました。比較的簡単そうなテキスト「ぜったい音読」入門編・標準編（國弘さんという通訳のスペシャリストの本です）を使って勉強しました。テキストにも書いてあるようにひたすら音読の繰り返しのお蔭で、当初はCDを聞いても早くてほとんど聞き取れなかった、話せませんでしたが、今はどちらもほぼ出来るようになりました。 そこでネットで調べて英語学習に適したドラマは「フレンズ」が良いと言う意見が沢山あったので買ってみましたが、今のレベルでは全くついていけませんでした。 やはり４ヶ月ぐらいの勉強ではとても無理だと感じ、基礎的な英語である中学性レベルをもう一度みっちりやろうとしているところです。中学生レベルをマスタ―出来れば日常会話レベルは出来ると書いてあったので。 本来の目的は外国映画を字幕なしで見られるようになりたかっただけです。 文章が長くなりましたが、お礼申し上げます。
