英文のofについて教えてください！
A person from Australia is of Australian nationality. この英文のofはなぜあるのですか？またなぜこの位置にあるのですか？

A person from Australia is of Australian nationality. この英文のofはなぜあるのですか？またなぜこの位置にあるのですか？ １．This is a picture of Picasso. のような時に、of Picassoがpictureという名詞を修飾している、つまり、形容詞のような働きをしていることがわかります。 ２．This picture is valuable.のvaluableは形容詞です。 This picture is of great value. のof great valueも、形容詞の働きをしています。 １と２でわかることは、of . . . が形容詞として機能するということですね。 A person from Australia is Australian. なら、Australianは形容詞です。 A person from australia is of Australian nationality. なら、of Australian nationalityで形容詞なのです。 もし、ofを使わないのなら A person from Australia has Australian nationality. と、hasにしないとダメです。 ここをbe動詞を使うなら、形容詞としての働きがどうしても必要です。 ＾＾＾＾ 若干違いますが、 likeも形容詞を作ります。 What is he like? He is like a movie star. He is famous. このWhat is he like . . . ?の疑問文の答は、He is like . . . もHe is + 形容詞 もどちらでもいいのです。つまり、like . . . が形容詞の働きをするからです。このlikeのように、ofの句も形容詞を作るという理解でよろしいかと思います。 以上、ご参考になればと思います。

(今年の最も重要な出来事は何ですか？） 上記の英文の of this yearをin this yearになっていないのは、なぜですか？ The war deprived him him of all his property. （その戦争は、彼から全財産を奪った。） 上記の英文の和訳が『彼から』となっているので、 The war deprived all his property from him.としては、駄目なんですか？ ofがなぜこの場面でつかわれてるのか？わからない英文をよく目にして悩む事が多いです。 of は、どういう時に使われるのか解説をしてください。よろしくお願いします。

fromとofのイメージ、使い方の違いについてです。fromは「起点から離れて行く」oｆは「分離する、切り離される」といったイメージがあると思います。しかし、rob A of Bなどはすごく微妙だなと感じます。しかも、fromは完全にはなれる、ofは離れつつも属しているというイメージ（例. Nylon is made from coal. This desk is made of wood.)があり、むしろ奪われるのだから、fromの方がいいんじゃないか？！と思ってしまいます。前置詞について詳しい知識をもっていないので、よろしくお願いします。
