そのまま訳すと 相撲取り候補が、相撲に興味を持ってくれないことが、今の相撲界の危機である。 少し推敲してみると 相撲取りにスカウトしたい青年が、興味を持ってくれない、そこが今の各界の危機なのだ。 以上、ご参考になればと思います。

英国の週刊誌The Economistの記事「Why the Japanese are no longer on top in sumo wrestling」（March 17, 2015）の中に、Of the 26 most accomplished wrestlers in Japan, which is the only location of professional sumo contests, ten are non-Japanese, and seven of those are Mongolian.の一文がでてきますが、この「２６」は何を指しているのかご教示頂けますならば幸甚です。相撲関連のサイトを調べてもよく分かりません。横綱と三役を足した力士の数でも変ですし、幕内の力士数だと少な過ぎます。よろしくお願い申し上げます。

Not on Your Life.” と題して、物議を醸している土俵の「女人禁制」に関する記事が掲載されましたが、次の一節にある as the straw ring is known の訳しかたと接続詞 as の意味・用法がよく分かりません。文脈から、直前に置かれているdohyo の補足説明で「俵で円形に縁取られたリング」のような内容だと思うのですが・・・。よろしくご教示くださいますようお願い申し上げます。 The women called out of the ring at the sumo event included a nurse from the audience who rushed onto the dohyo, as the straw ring is known, to administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation to the fallen politician.

題名に書いた文章を英訳したいのですが，自分で書いた訳は； Wear is observed between pins and bush due to lack of grease. 質問したいのは，"due to lack of grease"の部分です。 Googleなどで，使用状況 を調べますと，"due to lack of grease"はhitしますが，一番最初に思い付いた； a) due to shortage of grease b) due to running short of grease とするとhitしません。 使用されている形跡は出てきません。 でも， due to shortage of + 別単語 なら出てきます。 知りたいのは； a) due to shortage of greaseの使用方法が間違っているのか？ b) due to shortage of greaseは間違いではなく，たまたまhitしなかっただけ？ c) この様な日本文表現に相応しい英語表現はあるのか？ ご存知の方，宜しくご教示下さい。
