英文の和訳と解説について疑問：修飾語としての『three days before』の使い方とは？

主節にかかる場合は (for) three days の for が省略された形。 before にかかる場合は単なる three days before ... だから，for があればわかります。 なくても，継続を表すような had been とか had been ～ing があれば， その後の three days はその継続の期間とわかります。 とにかく，過去完了で継続を表すパターンとして今回のような He had been ill three days before the doctor was sent for. を覚えておくことです。 普通はこういう例文でも for をつけます。

下記、ある問題集からの英文です。 The reseachers said that each hour of television children watch per day up to the age of three reases by 10% the risk that they will have attention problems at age 7. 訳は、 『３歳までに１日にテレビを見る時間１時間につき、 ７歳で注意生涯を引き起こす危険性を10％押し上げると研究者たちは述べている。』 だそうですが、 ここでの‘up to’の意味が掴めませんでした。（訳を読んでもピンときませんでした） 私は～per day までがthat以下の主節だと思っていました。 she came up to me ‘彼女は私に近づいてきた’などというニュアンスで、 動詞と組み合わせて目的語を取る形はわかるのですが、、。 例文のように、up to 以下の節が、‘子供が１日にテレビを見る時間’ という主節を修飾する使い方は、よくあるのでしょうか？ ちなみに、これがわからなかったことで、自分が文法のどの部分が弱いのかも、わかっていません。 私の場合、例文の場合だと、和訳から浮かぶ英単語は、‘by’です。 どなたか、ここらへん詳しく説明してくださる方いらしたら、お願いします。 あと、文法ではどのカテゴリーを復習するといいのかも、教えていただけたら嬉しいです。

ある英文の和訳問題についてなのですが、解説を見ても自分の中でどうも納得出来ません。具体的に英文と解答を載せます。 It may be that an event has suddenly happened which has forced him to take action immediately. ある出来事が突然起こって、それが彼にとっさの行動をむりやり取らせているということなのかもしれない。 thatを接続詞と考えて、主語＝an event 動詞＝has (suddenly) happened と考えたのですが、その後のwhichがどういう意味なのかがよくわかりません。an eventを修飾しているとしても解答通りの訳に至らないと思います。 助言などを頂けると幸いです。

構文が読み取れないので文法的に教えてください。 Speech is so familiar a feature od daliy life that we rarely pause to difine it. It seems as natural to man as walking, and only less so than breathing. 和訳はあるのでなんとなく分かります。しかし、倒置などいろいろと文法的要素が詰まっているので出来る限り解説してください。 as natural to man as というのはas asの間にこのような感じにto～がが入ることがあると理解しておけばよいでしょうか。 and only less so than breathing.これ「呼吸するに比べてわずかに自然でないとはいえ」と訳出していますが、よくわかりません。 御願いします。
