和訳がよくわかりません。教えてください。 1)They were surprised that I would eat whatever they did when most white kids would be grossed out. 多くの白人の子供が不快に感じる時でも、彼らのしたものは何でも食べたものだった事に驚いていた →大抵の白人の子供が食べないものでも彼らの食べるものは何でも食べた事にびっくりしてた？？ 2)I don’t think they realized that Italians eat some really weird stuff too. 彼らは、イタリア人がかなり変わった食べ物を食べることもよく知らなかったと思う。？ 3)Never got a girlfriend though! What did surprise me was that he'd started to eat my chocolate! という文を読んでいて、Surpriseがわからなくなってきました。 驚かされたんだからWhat I was surprised was that～! といった感じで受身にして使うのではないのでしょうか？受身にしなくていいんですか？ そう考えているともう１つ疑問になった事があります。それは、Surprise（動詞）Surprised（形容詞）の見分けたかです。 I was surprised that～といった感じで形容詞として私はSurpisedをよく使っていたもので、動詞としてこの単語を使う事に慣れていません。もし、動詞の受身形でSurpriseを使いたい場合、形容詞として使うのと同じ形になってしまうような気がして頭がこんがらがってきています（＞＜） また、名詞としても使えるんですよね？本当に簡単な単語なのになんだか私の中でややこしくなってきてしまっています。 どなかたSurpriseの使い方教えて下さい☆ よろしくお願いいたしますm(..)m

would neverについて 学校の文法解説ではwould neverは過去の拒絶とか、仮定法過去の帰結節の否定などで習うと思うのですが、最近このwould never が現在の時制として、しかもifなしや仮定法とは考えにくい文で使われているのを耳にしました。 まず仮定法で使われている例をあげると I would never resent her, whatever she did. この文は仮定法だということがわかります しかし次の二つの例文になるとどういった用法でwould never が使われているのかわかりません 一応仮定法だと想定してif節を自分でつけてみました。（自分で考えつけたした文は（）で囲んであります） I would never do that.(even if you could) I would never lie to you.(even if i needed to) 今回質問したいのは僕のこの解釈であっているかどうか それと、例文のwhatever she did はwhatever she does,またeven if you couldのcouldはcanにしたほうがよいのかどうかも教えてほしいです。個人的にはwhateverのほうは過去形で良いと思うのですが、後者はI will never do that even if you can.のほうがいいような気がします。 でもその場合will never でなくwould never を使う意味は何なのか分からなくなってしまうんですよね。。 以上二点回答よろしくお願いします

My dad backed out of participating in the family beach trip when I asked him not to bring his new love interest. At the time, my spouse's parents were coming; they have been married almost 40 years, and I knew it would make them uncomfortable. お世話になっております。今回、thatなどの使い方や過去の話をはなすときについての疑問です。 たとえば、 「ぼくは、ぼくたちは結婚するとおもっていた。しかし彼女はちがった。」 という文章のとき、I thought we would marry. but～ ですが 、 おもっていた というのを had をつかって表現するのは間違えなのでしょうか？ I had thining that we would marry.とかI had thinking about～のように。 この日本文からだと彼女とつきあっていた間に、ぼくは彼女と結婚する"ということを" "おもっていた"のですし。。 I thoughtだと ただ おもった というかをじになってしまうきがするのですが、、 それともネイティブのかたはこのようにいうのですか？ 英語に対して理解できてない部分が多くて すみません。おしえてくださいおねがいします。
