new many wordsをmany new wordsという語順にする理由は、形容詞の並べ方の約束にあります。 冠詞・人称代名詞や名詞の所有格 ex)my a ↓ 数量 ten ↓ 主観的判断 fine,lovely,nice ↓ 大小 small,large ↓ 年齢・新旧 young ↓ 色 white,brown ↓ 材料・出所 Dutch,leather という順番です。 ＞(9)It has passed three years since I began to study English では、Passという単語はItを主語にとれないのでしょうか？ Passなのですが、これは自動詞っていうもので、後ろに目的語がいらないのです。なので、前置詞なしにthree yearsという言葉を置く事が出来ないのです。 以上のような説明で分かりましたでしょうか。ちょっと難しいですね。

We are sure to visit you again when you are convenient. 答えはyou are convenient をit is convenient for you です. なぜIt is～の形にするのが適切でしょうか？ Q2: 「あなたは都合がよい」」と表す場合、なぜ[you are convenient」ではいけないのでしょうか？ The rose is beautiful. のようにYou are convenient.が成り立たないのがなぜかわかりません. よろしくお願いいたします.

唐突ですが、これらの文章は文法的に見て、いかがでしょうか？ (1) Was that you who called me last night? (2) The wristwatch is cheaper than each of the rest. (3) Who are you that you could talk so arrogantly? (4) Both of your hands are wet. つまり、(1)thatはitでなければイケナイでしょうか？(2)eachはanyでないとダメ？(3)couldはshouldにすべき？(4)ofはジャマ？ じつに些細な質問ですが、語感に自信のある方からご意見を頂戴できればうれしく思います。
