医学論文投稿での意味を教えて下さい
英文雑誌の投稿規定にDescribe figures in the text rather than in separate legends.とあります。 投稿した後に、You must describe the features of the figures (such as arrows) within the body text of your paper. とメールが来ました。（投稿時にfigure legendをtextの後ろにつけて、それらをひとまとめにしてPDFに変換してしまいました。） 上記のメールの意味は、Figure legendsのページを作成せずに、本文中にFigureの説明文を書いて（Fig. 1）とするのでしょうか。つまり、ーーー説明文ーーーーー（Fig. 1）.とすればよいのでしょうか。 ご教授宜しくお願い致します。

この論文、どの順番で読めばいいのでしょう...内容から読み取れと思われるかもしれないのですが全く興味のない分野(和訳して来いということで課されました)なので分脈判断ができません.. 直前に続く文章は RELICT GEL The shiny slickenside layer on the Corona Heights fault is composed of amorphous silica, hydrous crystalline silica grains locally containing cellular structures, quartz, and nanoparticles of Fe oxide. MS-wordで論文（この場合、図を複数引用している文章で、本文中から図1などと引用する）を 作成することがたまにあるのですが、本文中で自動的に図の番号を管理してくれる便利なソフト（Add-in？)とかありませんでしょうか？ ちょうど、引用文献に関しては、EndNoteを始めとしたソフトがあり、文章の順番を変えたりすると、文の最初から順番に文献番号を振り直してくれます。 最近、MathTypeという有料Add-inで、数式の番号も振り直してくれることを知りました。 残るは、図の番号の自動管理なのですが、いいAdd-inとかご存じないでしょうか？ イメージとしては、Figure Caption（分野によってはLegendという）を本文中から複数回引用できるといいのですが。また、Fig. 1(a)みたいな形式にも対応できるといいのですが。 既存の、例えばEndNoteとかMathTypeをこういう風に使えば、図の番号の管理もできるといった感じの情報で結構です。 よろしくお願いいたします。

To clarify the difference between the two spectra a difference spectrum (Fig 4d) was calculated and compared with the spectrum obtained from pure collagen type I (Fig 4f). This shows that the dermis in the vicinity of the tumor contains less collagen than dermis at a greater distance from the tumor. すみません、英文契約書の勉強をしていますが、 「This Agreement shall apply in lieu of and notwithstanding any specific legends or statements」とは 「本契約は、ある特定の説明または声明に代わりかつそれらにかかわらず適用されるものとする」という訳になりますか？ 特定の説明や声明があったとしても、本契約はそれらに優先する、という意味でしょうか。 よろしくお願いいたします。
