以下の文での構造について教えてください。 We have decided to provide warranties that cover all items for an extra two years, bringing the period of coverage to a total of five years. ここでの ", bringing" は、分詞構文として捉えればよろしいでしょうか。 （理解の仕方が誤っているかもしれないですが、"...two years, (which is) bringing ..." ） この場合、"bringing" の意味上の主語は、"warranties" という理解でよろしいでしょうか。 それとも、前文(We から two years) と考えてもいいのでしょうか。 アドバイスよろしくお願い致します。

On the contrary it is often thinking of so many things and consideration of so many doubts that result in the difficult to reach and act on a simple decision. と言う文章で、答えの訳が「それどころか（これは前文を踏まえて対比をしているので、on the contraryはしかとでOKです）、単純な決定に達しそれに基づいて行動することが困難になるのは、多くのことを考えすぎ、あまりに多くの疑問点を考慮する結果であることが多い」 なんですけど、もうまったくわかりません。構造をつかめても前置詞と日本語のつながりがわからないのでまったく訳せません。 皆さんの力を貸してください。お願いします

早速の回答ありがとうございます。こちらで初めて質問したのですが、まさかこんなに丁寧にお答えいただけるとは思っていなかったので感動しました。 省略や同格があったんですね。,のせいで、designed toの直後がすべてtoVの内容だというのも全く気づきませんでした。さらにHerman Kahn博士も初耳でした。もっと背景知識をつけないと全然内容についていけなくてダメですね。 make people jump...の部分はpeoleが偽占い師のことで占い師の就業資格（適正）があるかどうか確かめる意のようです。説明不足ですみませんでした。 またよろしくお願いいたします。
