Aさん：Yes, exactly. という部分があります。 この場合、Bさんの"A case of less is more?"とはどういう意味でしょうか。 セットフレーズですか。 教えてください。 よろしくお願いします。

A case of less | is | more 主語｜be動詞｜～ もしかしてこういう風に見えたのではありませんか。A case of "less is more"? だったら less is more がフレーズであることが分かって調べるのが簡単だったのかもしれません。 (Is that / Is it) a case of "less is more"? 「（それは／おっしゃることは）『過ぎたるは及ばざるがごとし（less is more）』の実例ですか」 主語と動詞も省略されています。

こんな文章に出会って困っています。 Some commentators have even gone as far as to say that the real story of the last ten years is less one of an American economic miracle than one of American underperformance. この"less one"の"one"が"story"だとすると、"less story"ということになると思うのですが、そうだとすると「数少ないストーリー」ということになるのでしょうか？ それとも、もしかして、この"one"は"real story"で、"less"は"real" を修飾しているのでしょうか？ どなたか、宜しくお願いします！

Web-spinning was not invented by some forgotten spider genius and does not depend on having had the right education or on having an aptitude for the construction business. この_(?)_ の部分にはas good asではなく、more or lessが入るということなのですが、なぜでしょうか？ 辞書によるとas good asは「～も同然」more or lessは「おおよそ」といった意味だそうですが、どちらを入れてもいいような感じで、違いが分かりませんでした。
