Because fire engine is not able to go in Roppongi 6-chome area. There was small place and lived there so many people. About 200 familiy was able to moved two skayscapers soar at the brand new residential complex. What a lucky people or not? 昔は道路が狭くて消防車がはいらなかった事とか、約200世帯は古い公団に住んでいた人々とか、どうでしょうか。この公団はどう言ったらよいのでしょうか。教えてくださいませ。

原文の趣旨を生かしつつ、こんな風に書いてみました。 I will go to the newly developped business/residential complex named Roppongi Hills on this weekend. According to the newspaper article about Roppongi Hills、the development of the Roppongi 6-chome area was originally set to be the ”development district”by Tokyo Prefecture in 1985． At that time the area was so densed by the old ”rabbit hatches” built by UDC（The Urban Development Corporation、a public entity ,established originally to supply individual houses）．The streets were so narrow that even fire brigade had difficulties to go through． As the result of this development about 200 family were able to move to the one of the two skyscrapers soaring at the brand－new residential complex． What are luckey people！ （最後のor not はよく意味がわからないので省略いたしました。） 必要があれば六本木ヒルズの下記サイトも参考にしてください。 なお、「公団」は当時の住宅都市整備公団で、その後行政改革で名称、業務内容ともかなり変わっていますが英文では概要のみ記してあります。 以上、ご参考になれば幸いです

大人の英会話というオンライン英語教室で”I was going to go there, but I decided not to because it started to rain" と言ったところ、”I was going to go there" は間違いで、行くプランをたてていたのなら”I was supposed to go there"と言うべきだと言われました。が、納得がいきません。自分のintentionが含まれる表現でsupposed toはおかしいのではないかと切り返すと、”You don't need to learn English if you are so sure of yourself"”You are not open to corrections"などといわれ、カッとしてskypeを切ってしまいました。もう少し食いついて議論すべきだったと後悔しています。それはともかく、私は間違っていたのでしょうか。

今日は残念なお知らせをあなたに言わなくてはいけません。 それは今年の短期留学についてなんですが、募集された人数が16人ぐらいでした。 でも今年の希望者は25人ぐらいいました。そう、１０人以上いけなくなるってことです。 だから去年短期留学をした人は今年は行けないということになってしまいました。 今年は誰かが行けなくなったりしない限りは行けないです。 まだ確実に行けないとは言い切れないですが、ほぼ今年は無理だと思います。 本当に楽しみにしてたのに残念です。 I have to tell you something not cool... this year 16 people had recruit for the short term abroad,but there is about 25 people who enter the name for this...that means over 10 people won't be able to go...so who went last year they can't abroad this year unless someone decide to not to go. I can't say that these people who abroaded are surely unable to go, but I think this is quite imposible... 先ほども似たような質問をしたんですが、 付け加えて質問があります。 In a crowded train or bus,you notice a vacant seat and go toward it,not totally able to believe your luck,not wanting to appear in indecent haste,but hoping that no one else will get there first. この文について質問なんですが、not totally able…やnot wanting…、but hoping…は全て分詞構文ですよね？これらはyou areが省略されている形だと思うんですが、なぜ省略しているんでしょうか？ すいません、頭がパニくって質問の意図がよくわかりませんよね。。。

I was able to change my basic character a little. I did not decide it for myself. I did not have such courage. At first, I feel not proceed. My mother told me "Go to Study Abroad in Australia." And I made up my mind. The Australian people were very friendly and helpful. When I talk to my host sister and I were very nervous. I was talking wrong English, But she was not laughed. Since that time, I was able to have a little courage I talked with many people at school. I was not ashamed able to speak the host family and friends. I'm not shy anymore than ever. This short-term study in Australia gave me courage. 最初に文法書、辞書には普通は not to と書いてあります。 この前、英英辞典を見てたら [miss] 1.to not be able to go to something or do something と書いてありました。これは自分の勘では not to にすると「何処かに行く、または何かをすることをできない」となり、辞書通りだと「何処かに行けない、または何かをすることができないこと」と「こと」で”説明っぽさ”が出ているように思いました（toはtoだけど）。まずこれを皆さんどう思いますか？ 次にこれだと両方意味は同じですが、ネットで --- http://okwave.jp/qa/q2217132.html No.7 What I said is not to do it. 私が言ったのはそれをやれではない、とWhat I said is to not do it私が言ったのはそれをやるなです。 No.5 １．What I asked him is to not go there. なぜなら、これを、 ２．What I asked him is not to go there. とすると、意味が変わってしまうから。つまり、 １は、「そこへ行かないように頼んだ。」であるのに、２は、「そこへ行くことを頼んだのではない。」となるから。 --- 意味が変わっています。こういう場合もあるのでしょうか？ 回答よろしくお願いします。
