On the weekend, I went to a science-fiction movie at a movie theater in Roppongi. という英文を目にしました。 そこで質問なのですが、すでにその映画のことが話題になっていたら、 On the weekend, I went to the movie at a movie theater in Roppongi. と言えますか？ そしてさらに、it で受けて、 On the weekend, I went to it at a movie theater in Roppongi. と言えますか？ （すでに話題になっていることが前提で、この前に、例えば、 It seems like fun.みたいな会話がなされているような感じです） 代名詞になると言わないのか、それともその映画のことと分かれば そのまま使っていいのかが自信が持てないので質問しました。 また、go to the movies という慣用的な表現を使って、 go to the science-fiction movies （?） のように言えますでしょうか？ 形容詞的なものを入れても大丈夫なのかが分かりません。 あと、もし思いつけばでいいのですが、 go to の後に厳密に場所だと言い切れないようなものが 来るような例が、他にありましたら教えて下さい。 自分が知っているのがこれだけなので。。。 よろしくお願いいたします。

go to him. →人のところへ行くの意味では our teacher, the old man, the king何でもありですね。 go to his aid. 彼の助けに行く go to her assistance. 彼女を助けに行く →お助け系の場合もこの形ですね go to the bar 弁護士になる、barは法曹界 go back to the basic 原点に帰る go to bits go to pieces →粉々になるの類です。 go to the party partyは場所とは微妙に違いますので。 go to a dance ダンスパーティーに行く go to confession 懺悔、信仰告白しに行く go to a division 採決に入る などなど、枚挙にいとまがないという感じです。

質問文にある、itがこの形で使えるか、つまり On the weekend, I went to it at a movie theater in Roppongi. は可能かどうかについて、ご見解をお聞かせください。 →文法的に可能かと言われれば可能と答えます。 私がその言い方をするかといわれれば、しません。 went to itはきもちわるいですね。 toの先には行き先がありそう。後に行き先のa movie theater がひかえているのに、ここのitがあるのがいやな感じ。 では、I went to itと言うか？ それでも言いません。 I went to see it. なら言います。 I went to a science-fiction movie はI went to see a science-fiction movieがいいと思うんです。 でも、まあ、to seeを省いてもいいかなっていうのが、（でもtoは必要） I went to a science-fiction movie ですね そういう感覚です。

→普通、映画館では複数種類の映画が交互に上映されたりしますね。 go to the moviesというのが決まり文句のように定着しています。 しかし、個別のこの映画みたいな場合は単数形ですね。 On the weekend, I went to a science-fiction movie at a movie theater in Roppongi. →他にもscience-fiction movieがあるので、いくつかあるうちの１つを意味します。この言い方はこの意味で成立します。 On the weekend, I went to the movie at a movie theater in Roppongi. お互いにどのscience-fiction movieかがわかる、あるいは、その映画館ではその映画しか上映していない、あるいは文脈があって、すでに話題にのぼっているものとかなら、the science-fiction movieと言います。 以上、ご参考になればと思います。

メキシコ人の英語の先生が教えるには既にチケットを持っている場合は I will go to see a movie on Sunday. だと言います。文法書によれば前もって計画していた未来は be going to を使うとなっているので I am going to go to see a movie on Sunday.だと思うのですがメキシコ人の先生は決定事項はwillだと言って譲りません。どちらが正しいのでしょうか？

ある作文を書いていた時のことですが、 私は何気なく「週末に買い物に行きたい」というのを 「I want to go shopping in the weekend」と書きました。 でも、姉に推敲してもらうと「on the weekend」だと言われました。 「ええ？別に、ある一日を差してる訳でもなし、絶対inだってば！」 と思ってジーニアス和英を引くと 「at the end of the week」と載っていました。 「週末に～をする」って言う場合の「週末に」は、英語でどう表現するのでしょうか？ weekendを使うことは無いのでしょうか。 inかonかは、解釈も含めて教えてくださると光栄です……

My husband and I socialize with another couple that we met at a meetup about a year and a half ago. Six months ago, the husband invited mine on a guys’ hiking weekend. In the six months leading up to it, it was discussed often and always as a guys-only weekend. On the car ride there, my husband found out that some men were bringing their wives. I am furious at the couple for lying to me. I wouldn’t have wanted to go, and I wouldn’t have been upset that my husband was going, but I do think it’s a huge lie considering we talked about it no less than 10 times in the months leading up. In the six months leading up to itは「ハイキングまでの６ヶ月の間に」でしょうか？あと、最後のin the months leading upの意味も教えてください。よろしくお願いします

こんなに（これ以上ですが）あるとは、、、 なにかの解説でgo to の後は場所が来るから、 go shopping の様に ～にという日本語でも go to は使わないんだよ、と読んだことがあったので 完全に勘違いしておりました。
