日本人は大雑把に言って単一民族なので民族や国籍に関する意識が低いですが、non-Japanese friend などと国籍で限定すると racist （民族差別主義者）と思われても仕方ありません。 こういう表記は避けるべきです。 I am looking for native English-speakers in and outside Japan (for language exchange). が回答者の意図・要求を包括していると思います。 friend という言葉は日本の幼稚園で使われるような「おともだち」的意味はなく、ただの知人よりもずっと深い関係（仲の良い友人、場合によっては親友）の意味で使います。 その関係は築くものであって、募集するものではないと私は考えるのでfriend という言葉は避けました。 ネイティブ英語と日本語的な英語では考え方が違うので、exchange mate を見つけることができたら、上に書いたような文化的な違いも是非学んでいって下さいね。 そしてテイクするだけでなく、あくまでもギヴ・アンド・テイクの姿勢で臨んで下さい。 （＾－＾

goo の辞書で外人(外国人)の英語を調べると、a foreigner とヒットしますが、逆に foreigner の意味を調べると、 http://ext.dictionary.goo.ne.jp/leaf/ej/foreigner/m0u/foreigner/ に記述されているように、外国人のことを foreigner と呼ぶのは避けたほうがいいですと書かれています。 では外国人のことを呼ぶには、どう英語で表現するのが最も適切で、外国人の人たちも理解することができるでしょうか？foreigner をよそ者と解釈するなら、確かに外国人を foreigner と呼ぶのはよくないと思います。 アドバイスよろしくお願い致します。
