質問

Her words left an indelible impression on me for years to come.
このto comeはどういう文法的働きをしているのでしょうか？
[彼女のいったことは、何年もわたしに忘れることができない感銘を与えた」とおもうのですが、to comeはなんなのでしょうか？

またMary had been confident that john would get the job, but the rueful expression on his face after the interview told her otherwise.の文のotherwiseは品詞は何でどういう意味でしょうか？
このotherwiseの意味はto say, think,or decide something defferntと言う意味であっているでしょうか？

特にlittle more than a ploy attract attention from parentsというところですが、「その子の不作法は、ほとんど両親の注意を引くためだけの手だった」と訳しますが、英文が早く読めるようになるためにはlittle副詞（a のつかないlittle)と訳して、more than「～より多くのこと」と訳すのはやめたほうがよいでしょうか？

　● to come は to不定詞の形容詞的用法で、years を修飾しています。「来るべき何年も」（years は「何年【も】」と多さを強調して訳します）が直訳、for years to come＝「それから何年もの間」です。

　years to come は頻出ですのでイディオム化していると考えていいでしょう。

　この場合は、２）違ったふうに、です。彼の悲しげな表情は彼女に違ったふうに告げた＝仕事が得られなかったことを告げた。

　英語ですと ...told her that he didn't get the job です。お示しの英語ですと、to say something differnt に近いですね。

　no more than ～＝～にすぎない、～にほかならない
　little more than ～は、no more than ～のちょっと手前ですね。ですので、【ほとんど】～にすぎない、【ほとんど】～にほかならない、という、ひとまとまりのイディオムとして考えるべきで、その都度、little だから．．．と考えていては、スピードが落ちます。

　no better than～, little better than～, no less than～、little less than～... no 比較級 than～, little 比較級 than～

　これらすべて、一発で、意味がバシッと来るようにイメージ・トレーニングすべきものです。

ご回答ありがとうございます。otherwiseはほとんど仮定法や、条件節などでよく目にしていたので、そような意味があるとは知りませんでした。
比較級の表現は英文を目にするたびに細かく訳していました。little more thanで覚えなおしたいと思います。
また、years to comeは不定詞形容詞用法は気づきませんでした。ありがとうございます。お返事が遅くなりごめんなさい。
