御助力下さい！宜しくお願いします。 この英文は正しいですか？ Did you have something stolen from the burglar then? その時、強盗に何かを盗まれましたか。 「タイミングが悪い」とは？ bad timing.って和製英語ですか？ タイミングが悪い＝ the timing is off 実際にどんな使い方をしているのか知りたいです。 「平日の夜」という語はありますが＝ on weeknight 「平日の昼間」という語はありますか？during the day(time) on weekdayというしかないですか？ Why do you think we have pay a deposit when we rent a room? テキストの文の「have pay」の使い方についてですが、よく解りません。have TO pay 「to」が抜けているのでしょうか？ この英文は正しいですか？ すべての公共の場が禁煙になったら？という質問に対して、「もしそうなればうれしい。」If it happen, I'd be happy. 宜しくお願いします。

lily-valleyさん、こんにちわ！ Gです。 では、私なりに説明しますね。 Did you have something stolen from the burglar then? その時、強盗に何かを盗まれましたか。 fromの件はいいですね。 でも、強盗と言うとどうしても、ナイフが何かを使って脅かして、物を盗む物ですよね、そうであれば、bobberと言うんですね。 burglarは家かなにかに侵入して盗む泥棒のことを言うんですね。 ホテルの部屋に侵入する泥棒も含みます。 また、この場合、anythingを使うと、単に盗まれましたか?となりますね。 timing is offと言う言い方は、特にスポーツなんかでのタイミングのことを言います。 つまり、テニスでボールを打つタイミング、ボウリングでボールを話すタイミング、護身術で、反撃するタイミング。そのようなタイミングがずれている事を、The timing to release the ball is off. You need to let it go a little later.と言うよう荷ですね。 bad timingも使えますが、ずれが大きいときのことを言います。 つまり、タイミングがずれているので、うまくできないと言うんではなく、話しにならないほど＜ｇ＞、悪いと言えるほどずれている、と言う事なんですね。 ですから、タイミングがずれて、あう時間がない、とかいうときは、bad timingなんですね。 ただ、すれ違うと言うような少しのタイミングで合えない、と言う事であれば、timing is offを使うようになりますね。 平日の昼間ですが、それをいえるひとつの単語はありません。 normal business hoursといって、平日の9-5字のような時間帯を言う時はありますが。 have payですが、toが抜けているとしか私には考えられません。 ＞すべての公共の場が禁煙になったら？という質問に対して、「もしそうなればうれしい。」If it happen, I'd be happy. これはwhenとifを使い分ける事が出来ますね。 つまり、If it happens, I'd be happy.と例文のようになる場合と、When it happens, I will be happy.とwillを使うやり方ですね。 つまり、ここでは、ifとwhenの許物と意味の違いが出てくる、と言う事なんですね。 （最近、多いな、このもともとの意味の重要さ、と言う事が） 出かけなくてはならないので、また来ますね。 これでいいでしょうか。 分からない点がありましたら、補足質問しておいてください。

>Did you have something stolen from the burglar then? from は盗まれ元を意味しますので、from --> by とします。 The burglar stole something from me. > bad timimg 和製英語ではないと思います。 It's really bad timing! >「平日の昼間」という語はありますか？ これは判りません。 daytime on weekdays 以外にあるのかなぁ？ have to pay でしょう。 happen(s) はなんだか変な感じがします。なにかeventとかsituationとかが発生するということなので。 If so, I'd be happy. とか If it does, I'll be happy. とか That would be nice to me. That'll be really nice to me. That'll make me so happy. などなど。

取り合えず分かる所だけですが、 Did you have something stolen from the burglar then? その時、強盗に何かを盗まれましたか。 fromはbyだと思います。 Why do you think we have pay a deposit when we rent a room? テキストの文の「have pay」の使い方についてですが、よく解りません。have TO pay 「to」が抜けているのでしょうか？ そうだと思います。 すべての公共の場が禁煙になったら？という質問に対して、「もしそうなればうれしい。」If it happen, I'd be happy. 可能性が低いなら、If it happened, それなりに可能性があると考えるなら、If it happens,ではないでしょうか。I'dもI'llになるのかな？？

otherwiseは副詞なので、英文をつなぐことはできないと思うのですが、以下の文章は正しいと言えますでしょうか。 You can complete this work by the date specified in the contract,otherwise we will have to pay compensation. このotherwiseは接続詞と間違われて使われているのではと思いましたがいかがでしょうか。 宜しくお願い致します。
