forward-deployed は形容詞 of は前置詞でその後は基本的に名詞にしなければならないからだと思います。 being をつけることで、「前線配置の状態」をとるという「方針」と言う感じだと思います。

お礼読みました。 ＞"Ever thought of being a model?" ＞(モデルになろうと思ったことある？） これは being を取ってしまうと、「モデルについてどう思う」になると思います。通常 models にしますが。 ＞"What aspect of being a musician have you enjoye the most?" ＞(ミュージシャンになって一番良かったと思うことは何ですか？） これも1番と同じで being を取ってしまうと意味が変わりますね。 acquire the reputation of being a first-rate translater (一流の翻訳家という名声を得る） これはなくても一見よさそうですが、自分が一流になるというフィーリングがなくなりそうです。 ようするに be a model で「モデルである（になる）」と言う部分が being a model で動名詞になっているわけだと思います。 be よりも動的な動詞で become があります。1には使えそうです。 名詞の場合は being があるないで意味が変わると言うことと思います。 回答になってますでしょうか？ 今回のように形容詞の場合も be forward-deployed の動名詞と考えてもいいでしょう。 形容詞は前に the をつけても名詞になります。しかし今回の場合は being をつけるか、forward deployment とすることになるでしょう。 もしくは our forward-deployed policy とかになるでしょう。 と分析してみました。 分析しすぎはよくありませんので、多くの英文を読めばなんとなく分かるようになり、それでよいと思うのです。

文法が判らないド素人の意見ですので、話半分で、 Our policy of [our having been] forward-deployed has contributed enormously. [our having been]の省略形が[being]で、「我々の部隊を前線配置する」という方針、と読みましたが、あとは「文法に詳しい方」の登場をお待ち下さい。
