和訳お願いします
安楽死の文章の一部です People confronted with their own death desire intimate human relationships, totally honest communication, dignity as human beings and the right to determine their own fate, just as they did when they were healthy. confrontedがうまく訳せません。いいたい事はなんとなくわかるのですが、訳が書けません。 confrontは他動詞ですが、目的語が後ろにありません。要素の移動でしょうか？

confront＋人（目的語）＋with ～ で「（人を）～に直面させる」という言い方になります。 この文の主部 People confronted with their own death ではconfronted が過去分詞で形容詞的にpeopleにかかっていくわけですが、関係代名詞等を補うとこうなりますね。 People who are confronted with their own death これだけで文を作るとこうなります。 People are confronted with their own death. つまり最初に書いたconfront＋人（目的語）＋with ～ の目的語の部分が主語になっている受動態の形、というわけです。 訳としては「自分の死に直面させられた人々は」とするとちゃんとした受身の意味が反映されますが、普通にいえば「死に直面した人々は」で問題ないでしょう。

confrontは直面してくださいでいいのでは? つまり 彼らが健康だったとき彼らがしたちょうどその時、彼ら自身の死に直面している人々は深い人間の関係、全く正直なコミュニケーション、人間としての尊厳と彼ら自身の運命を決定する権利を希望します。 でいいのでは?

confronted は過去分詞で、confronted with their own deathが主語のPeopleにかかる形容詞句。desireが動詞ではないでしょうか。 そしてそのあとの (1)intimate human relationships (2)totally honest communication (3)dignity as human beings (4)the right to determin their own fate, just as they did when they were healthy は並列で、desireの目的語だと思われます。 そのように考えると、直訳ですが、 「自らの死に直面した人は、親密な人間関係や、真に誠実なやりとり、人間としての尊厳、そして、ちょうど彼らが健康なときにしていたのと同じように、自らの運命を決定する権利を望む。」 となるかと思います。 just as 以下は文全体にかかるか直前にかかるか迷いましたが、they didとあり、このdidは直前のdetermineのことと判断したためこのように訳しました。 もし間違っていたらすみません。
