添付ファイル文章にある goes the adageに関する質問です。 この語句は、倒置しているように感じますが、なぜ倒置しているのか分からないです。 また、意味的にも 「諺によれば」のように使われているように思いますが、どういう文法ルールに従っているのか分からないです。 解説宜しくお願いします。 The first rule of holes, goes the adage, is that "if you find yourself in a hole, stop digging.”

現在、英語のGrade10で、分からなかったところがあります。分かる方、ぜひ教えてください！ 現在、Point Of Viewについて勉強しています。 OmniscientとLimited Omniscientの違いがよく分かりません。 下に両方のPoint of Viewを現した同じような内容の文章があります。どうして、その文章がOmniscientとLimited Omniscientを現すのか分かりません。 分かるように説明をお願いします！ まず、両方のOmniscientとLimited Omniscientについて。 Omniscientについて。 Third person Knowledge in unlimited (can peer inside the minds of characters -- express what they are thinking or feeling; can interpret their behavior) Limited Omniscientについて。 Third person Viewpoint of ONE character (tells what this character sees and hears, and thinks and feels -- shows no knowledge of what other characters see, hear, think or feel except for what this character knows or infers) Resembles real life conditions more closely than ominiscient Omniscient： Weary in every limb, the ant tugged over the snow a piece of corn he had stored up last summer. He knew its kind. という文章で、２つ目の文の"What were you doing all last summer?"は、AntがGrasshopperに聞いた言葉だと思いますが、どうして、その後の言葉が asked the ant.なんでしょうか？ the ant askedではないのでしょうか？どちらも正解ですか？ asked the ant.となっていたので、AntがGrasshopperに尋ねたと思ったのにこんがらがってしまったもので・・・。 どうしても主語と述語が反対なんでしょうか？このように文章が書かれることもよくありますか？ 長い文章を読んでくれてありがとうございます。 片方だけでもいいです。分かった方は教えてください！お願いします！！！

日本語訳をチェックしてもらえないでしょうか？ 前の文章------------------------------------------------------------ Your clothes are all wet, and you must be cold. I'm sure you're tired, too; you must have driven far today. Stay with us tonight. 前の文章------------------------------------------------------------ Tomorrow you can start out warm and dry and rested. を「暖をとって、服を乾かして、体を休めて、明日出発すればいいわ」と訳しました。 前の文章の意味からこのように訳したのですが、「warm and dry and rested」が英文として文法的によくわかりません。 お手数ですが、よろしくお願いします。 PS. potechuさん、orange_marmaladeさん、fieldsさん 昨日私が質問した日本語訳に対して丁寧に答えてくれて本当にありがとうございました。

＞先に if it has been ～ → has it been ～があるとしましょう。 実際にはこの if は仮定法ではないので、こういうことはできません。 ＞とにかく、この倒置が If I were in your place → Were I in your place If it should be correct → Should it be correct のような倒置から来ているというのはおかしいんです。 先の質問の解答欄で上記の事を述べられたかたがいられますが、 "If it were her birthday, I'd send her a birthday card." ↓ "Were it be her birthday, I'd send her a birthday card." とsecond contionalは倒置が可能であるが、下記のようなif節（Zero Conditional)は倒置できないという事だろと思いますが、下記の文章は倒置が不可能ですか？ If you have any questions, you are free to contact us by email at any time. http://okwave.jp/qa/q8577747.html
