こんにちは。もう遅いかもとは思いますが… 「仕事」であれ「働き口」であれ、 文法的にはその場合の"work"は「不可算名詞」、 つまり"a"をつけない名詞とされています。 文脈があればもっとはっきりするかと思いますが、 "a work"あるいはよく"works"と複数形で使われる場合は ほとんどの場合「（芸術などの）作品、著作、出版物」のはずですよ。
