英訳です。よろしく御願いします。
下の英文は、先ほど行われた国連総会での小泉首相の演説の一部ですが、倒置だろうというのはわかりますが、as is からの構造と、全訳をお教えください。 特にas is からの訳し方がわかりません。 一応、自分なりに訳しました。「国連憲章の中の陳腐化した敵国条項の削除のように、日本は安全保障委員会の改革が国際社会にとって正当な運動であると確信している。」 Japan is convinced that the Security Council reform is a just cause for the international community, as is the deletion of the long-obsolete 'enemy-state clause' of the UN Charter.

この文は "... reform is a jsust cause," "the deletion ... is a just cause" と並列になっていて、後ろの文では重複を避けるために省略して "as is" にしたんですね。 ですから、「日本は安全保障委員会の改革が国際社会にとって正当な事由であり、国連憲章の中の陳腐化した敵国条項の削除もそうであると確信している」になると思います。

＃２です。間違えました（英訳ですね。） ちなみにyoroshikuhideさんの英訳は下のようになりました。 日本は安全保障理事会改革が国際社会のための大義名分であると確信しています、国連憲章の長い時代遅れの'敵国節'の削除のように。 お役に立てなくてスミマセン（汗）

あまり政治には詳しくないので単語の深い意味などは理解できないのですが、、、 ～ + as + be または do + S これで（Sも）同様にと言う意味になります。 簡単な分で言うと He speaks English well, as does his son. 彼は英語を上手に話すし、息子も同じだ。（息子も同じく上手に英語を話す。） ですから、No.1の回答者様の答えでいいと思います。 もう少し簡単に訳すとすれば 安全保障委員会の改革、国連憲章の時代遅れの敵国条項を削除する事が国際社会にとって必要であるのだと確信している。 って感じでしょうか・・。 参考になればいいのですが、 あまりまとまりのないものですいませんでした。

翻訳サイトで英訳してみました。 Japan is convinced that the reform of Committee on National Security is a right movement for the international society as delete about the enemy clause made hackneyed in Charter of the United Nations.
