the project finished in time を 1 つの言葉にして We got に繋いだものです。 分解すれば…… We got the project (which had been) finished in time. となります。……project と finished の間に「,」を入れたいところだけど、入れなくても間違いではないでしょう。 I had my hair cut (髪の毛を切ったよ) という言い方がありますが、口語では have よりも get を使って意思を持って行ったというような強めの表現法もありますので、We finished the project in time と言うよりも「間に合ったぁ(^_^)/」という晴れ晴れとした気持ちを込めて We got the project finished in time と言ったのでしょうね。 get には I got the payment を I got paid とか、I got knock-down を I got knocked down というように「get + 名詞」ではなく、名詞部分ももっと強く意識した「Get + 過去分詞」の形で用いる事もあります。 素敵な英会話を(^_^)/

If you think of all the time since the earth's beginning as crowded into one day of twenty-four hours,・・・ という英文の中で、as crowded の文法的解釈がよくわかりません。 think of A as B （ A を Bだと考えると）を使い、「地球の誕生以来のすべての時間を２４時間という1日の長さに詰め込んだと仮定すると」という訳はなんとなく理解できるのですが、asの後ろにcrowdedがきているため、asの用法、crowdedの品詞もよくわかりません。 crowdedは形容詞ですか？動詞ですか？ またこのasの品詞はなんなのでしょうか？ この英文の構造、またas 以下の文法的説明ができる方がいらっしゃいましたらご教授ください。 よろしくお願いいたします。

英文解釈の参考書に But when his purpose is to learn something and there are hard spots in the material, he slows down as much as he needs to so that he can understand what he reads. という英文が出てきました。( needs のあとの to は to slow down という不定詞の代わりをしています。）この英文の文法構造と日本語訳を教えてください。
