 ある幹部がUseemに言ったところ(1984:47–48)では  いくつかの役員会に関わっているといいことがあるのは言うまでもない。そうすれば知り合いの網の範囲も自分の経験も広くなる。  だから、人に与えるためだけではなく、人から何かを得るために役員会に名前を連ねるのだ。自分の記憶が正しいかどうかを試すべく、経験を広げるのだ。
