あるサイトにこんな例が出されていました。 -- Have you seen The Green Monster? -- Yes, I saw it last week. この例を持ち出した回答者によると、Have you ... の方は具体的な時を問題にしていない。対して答えた方は last week という具体的な時を示しているから単純過去形にしているのだ、という説明です。 なるほど、現在完了形で時を表す表現を入れるのは不自然だなと思いました。そして、質問者の示された英文には as a kid というふうに限定された時の範囲を示す表現が入っています。それが have ever been to ... とならない理由のように思われます。 もしも、単に 「Disneyland に行ったことがあるかい？」 という質問であれば、Have you ever been to Disneyland? という文になっていたかもしれません。

この文章を書いたネイティブの意図していることがまったくわかりません。この文を読む限りでは、今は友達だけど、20年もすれば友達ではない？というような書き方じゃないですか？どういう意味か訳して頂きたいです。 but just more who you are because in 20 years if I think about you I'd like to remember you as just the real you then I think I can treasure you and be happy to remember you it stinks if I remember anything else and I cannot see you あなたは大切な人だから。 と最後は日本語でした。

竹岡広信氏の書いた「ドラゴンイングリッシュ」の１４番目の例文についてです。 日本語 ここからディズニーランドまで電車で行くなら、 3回も乗り換えが必要になります。 英語 If you take the train to Tokyo Disneyland from here, you have to change three times. で、この文の主節部分にwillを入れてもいいのでしょうか？ つまり、「you will have to ～」としてもいいのかということです。 回答お願いします。
