質問者様のイメージは A and B are means of xxxxxx ing ということですから そのまま複数形との理解で問題ないと思います。 （何としても、絶対に） というとき by all means とか良く使います。（複数形の例）

there is とthere areの使い分けは、自分の頭の中では単数はthere is 複数はthere areという考えしかないのですが、ほかに何か決まりごとがあるのでしょうか？。例えば、NHKラジオ徹底トレーニング英会話7月号78ページにあった英文で、There's lots of content out there that I don't want them to see.（そこには見てほしくないコンテンツがたくさんあるから）というのがありましたが、lots ofだから複数扱いのような気がするのでthere are とはならないのでしょうか？。contentにsがついていないのも、納得できません。contentは単複同形ですか？

英語の冠詞の使用について、又、戸惑っております。 今月号の英語の本に（何の本か覚えていませんが）、昼食に鶏肉を食べたときはI ate a chicken.でなく I ate chicken. と言わないと正しくない、と書いてありました。 I ate a chicken. は鶏1羽食べた。の意味なので、鶏肉は冠詞無しでchicken が正しい、とありました。なんとなく納得していました。 ですが、魚の場合は？ I ate a fish. と I ate fish. 前者は魚(おかしらつきで）一匹食べた事、で I ate fish. は 切り身を食べた事になるのでしょうか？或いは、fish は単複同形なので、a をつける事自体がおかしい？ 質問をまとめると、 １）1羽、2羽でなく鶏肉の(フライドチキンのような塊が）2つあったときでも 冠詞無しで I ate chicken.でいいのですか？或いは I ate two pieces of chicken. 等といいますか？ ２）fish の場合です。 I ate a fish. と Ｉ ａｔｅ ｆｉｓｈ．の英文について、教えて下さい。例えば、どちらかの英文が正しくないのならそのように教えて下さい。又、どちらも正しい場合、それぞれの意味を違いをを明確にして教えて下さい。。
